You may be aware there has been a spike in vehicle crime taking place in your area. We have received several reports over the last couple of weeks of a lone male trying car door handles in the early hours of the morning. The offender taking any small items he can get his hands on. 

As part of the FYLDE RURAL TASK FORCE, we are aware of this ongoing issue and are actively targeting anyone involved. Over the coming weeks, we will be patrolling this area in both liveried and covert police vehicles. The use of our stop search powers will be increased in this area with the hope of catching any persons involved. 

We have received some great CCTV footage so far and believe that more people may have caught him on camera. If you think you could have caught him on your video doorbell or CCTV system, email us at : FyldeRTF@lancashire.police.uk .

We advise that you keep valuables out of your vehicle overnight and ensure that your vehicle is locked fully before heading off to bed. If you hear or see anything suspicious overnight, please call 999 and explain the circumstances.
