Good News!

Good Morning!

Sgt Dave had a great day on Sunday…

With the support of WLBC, Safer Roads Team, Special Constabulary and the Beacon Rangers, Skelmersdale Neighbourhood Team have conducted a second joint patrol to tackle anti social behaviour caused by riders of off-road motorcycles, scramblers, and quad bikes in the Skelmersdale area.

During the operation, we had a mix of officers in uniform and plain clothes, in vehicles and on mountain bikes and conducted patrols in various locations throughout Skelmersdale - including Up Holland, The Beacon Country Park, Ashurst, Birch Green and Digmoor.

It had been a successful day for the team, with three bikes being recovered from the Farley Lane / Beacon area and then later in the afternoon another large off road bike being located on a footpath adjacent to Egerton, in Digmoor. Out of the four bikes recovered, two were recovered by officers on mountain bikes… lol, they can pedal quick! 🚴🏻‍♂️

We had obviously heard your concerns regarding the anti-social use of off road bikes in Skelmersdale and are actively targeting this issue and will continue to do so as we move forward into summer.

We’ve completed approximately 20 miles on our mountain bikes today, with some of the distance missing due to a GPS glitch… honest.

Please continue to report such incidents of ASB as this will provide us with the most up to date information on this issue and the specific locations to patrol.

The more you tell us, the more you can influence what we do and where we patrol. Sign up to 'In The Know' and let us know your thoughts.

Thank you for your continued support. 😊

Stay safe,
