As the weather becomes brighter and summer is on the way, the time for home improvements and renovations is near. 

Blackburn with Darwen Council currently operate 2 FREE HOUSEHOLD WASTE and RECYLING CENTRES.

Many items can be disposed of within these sites for free.

A permit is required for personal DIY / CONSTRUCTION WASTE. This can be obtained for free as long as you live within the borough.

The LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL website also offers further advice regarding disposing of materials. No permit is required for these sites.

Waste can be disposed FREE of charge within the LANCASHIRE area. 

Please don't spend your hard-earned money on paying individuals who are likely to dispose of your items in the incorrect manner (Fly tipping) - Sadly, many people have been caught out by this and see themselves in COURT.
