We wanted to make you aware of some recent bogus traders around Ribby Avenue, Wrea Green. A male has been posting leaflets to addresses offering home improvement services. Unfortunately, this male has carried out some work at an address and charged the residents a considerable amount of money and the work is sub-standard. Police are making enquiries into this male and his business activities, and he is being reported to Trading Standards to continue the enquiries.

May I remind residents to be extra vigilant when people are coming to your door to try and sell you a service. We would not recommend anyone employs the service of anyone who operates in this manner. Look online at Lancashire County Council’s Safe Trader Scheme, www.safetrader.org.uk, telephone 0303 333 1111. If you have any suspicions, please contact the police on 999 if it is an emergency and you feel threatened or intimidated. Please call 101 for a non-emergency or make an online report on Lancashire Constabulary’s website.
