Disqualified Driving conviction

Dear Resident

On the 29th of May 2024 during the evening, Zafar Iqbal of Cobham Road, Accrington, was witnessed driving a silver Ford Focus on Park Street, Accrington whilst disqualified by Accrington Taskforce.

On the 3rd of September 2024 during the morning, he was witnessed driving a white Volkswagen Golf on Whalley Road in Clayton by Accrington Taskforce.  Iqbal was still disqualified from driving.   The Golf was later located and seized from outside his home address.

Iqbal was interviewed about both matters shortly after the incidents and denied them both.  He pleaded not guilty at court, but was found guilty of both incidents by Burnley Magistrates on the 24th of February 2025.

On the 15th of April 2025 Lancaster Magistrates imposed a 12 month driving ban, a 12 month community order with 300 hours unpaid work and £620 prosecution costs.
