Yesterday, officers from Hyndburn Neighbourhood Policing Team conducted an Op Vanquish Day of Action to make our roads & communities safer!
This operation was aimed at tackling those who use the Borough’s roads for criminality – whether that be speeding or using a mobile phone at the wheel. We worked alongside partner agencies including Lancashire County Council’s Traffic Wardens and the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency. 

We set up numerous check sites across Hyndburn, using the information provided to us from the public though the Community Road Watch website. We attended Burnley Road, Accrington whereby 108 vehicles were checked. No vehicles were caught speeding in this location. 3 tickets were also issued by the Traffic Wardens on the day.

Officers attended multiple schools within the Borough to provide a high visibility presence and to educate drivers, particularly on keeping marked ‘zig-zag’ areas clear and safe.
