Update on Holmes Street incident


Hi there,

 

We wanted to keep you updated about the ongoing incident on Holmes Street in Burnley.

 

Crews from Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service are still at the scene, with two fire engines and an aerial ladder platform in use. Our crews are working closely with partner agencies to manage the situation as safely and swiftly as possible. We completely understand the disruption this may be causing locally, and we’re doing everything we can to keep that to a minimum.


Please avoid the area if you can. And if you can see or smell smoke in your area, please keep your windows and doors closed.

 

Some road closures are still in place and likely to remain for the time being. This includes Holmes Street, as well as a partial closure of Oxford Road.
