Dishwasher fire sparks important safety reminder

A quick-thinking Lancashire resident recently saved their home - here’s how

Our crews recently attended a serious kitchen fire caused by a dishwasher that caught fire, filling the property with thick black smoke.

Thanks to the occupant who immediately called 999, firefighters were able to contain the blaze to the kitchen and prevent it from spreading further.

This is your reminder to use appliances safely:

✅ Run dishwashers, tumble dryers, and washing machines only when you're home and awake
✅ Never leave them running overnight or while you’re out
✅ Fires can escalate quickly and become much more dangerous if no one is there to act
