Ingol and Tanterton June 2025 Monthly Updates

Dear Residents

We have had yet another busy month. Week commencing 23rd June saw the Neighbourhood Policing Week of Action where along with other forces across the country we celebrated all things neighbourhood trying to showcase what we do daily. Working with our partners including Community Gateway and Places for People we conducted numerous joint visits to residents and vulnerable people. Visits were completed at addresses on Clevedon Road, Barry Avenue, Colwyn Place, Westbrook Crescent, Tag Croft for various reasons including neighbour issues, ASB and low-level crime and drugs offences. Numerous ABC’s (acceptable behaviour contracts were issued) We received a warm welcome from staff and residents at Hargreaves Court off Whitby Avenue whilst we passed information relating to all thing’s ‘safety’ including how to keep yourself safe. We conducted numerous inputs at our local schools. A big thank you to the children at Pool House School for the much-needed ice lolly when passing this week. It’s been a hot one wearing all the kit.

Motorcycle nuisance as we all know is a continuing issue with lots going on to try and combat it. In recent weeks the NPT and officers from the environmental health have been conducting environmental visual audits around the affected areas with site security surveys. It would be almost impossible to tackle all areas just due to the vast location but areas around Wood Avenue and Sheraton Park and areas along Lightfoot Lane and Walker Lane have been highlighted as key sites where bikes can get on and off. Some fantastic perseverance from residents, supported by NPT and partners have resulted in some temporary measures being put in place by BELLWAY on WALKER LANE. We shall revisit the walkabouts with potential action in the months moving forward.

We also conducted a successful afternoon of action “Walk and Talk” where NPT officers and housing officers from Places for People conducted estate walkabouts. We spoke to many residents about various issues. Of note highlighted including drugs dealing around Slyvancroft and motorcycle nuisance through the ginnels off Threefields. Areas where bushes and trees were seen to be overhanging where identified with actions tasked. It was nice to see many residents coming to speak to us about their concerns, completing the Lancashire Talking survey and getting bikes signed up on the Bike Register. Thank to everyone who stopped us.

We have also had numerous reports of vehicle crime in the last few weeks. Reports have occurred in the early hours along Whitby Avenue and Worthing Road. An unknown suspect has been walking the streets trying car doors looking to gain entry. Thankfully for all those reported to us no entry was gained. One vehicle on Worthing Road however was entered with money and bank cards stolen. Secured by Design - Car Security Visit the Secure by Design website for further information on car security advice to prevent car crime.

MILK BOTTLE THEFTS -Good News – We received reports in recent weeks of milk being stolen from doorsteps of residential properties. Following CCTV enquiries, a male was identified and dealt with accordingly via an out of court disposal with referral through to various safeguarding agencies.

Good News – You might have seen we have been conducting a series of Drugs Act Warrants around Preston and other parts of the county over the last couple of weeks. Following community lead intelligence, we executed 2 warrants in the Ingol area along Whitby Avenue. Two males were subsequently arrested and charged for possession

with intent to supply Class A drugs where custodial sentences are expected (I will keep you posted) Your information is vital in ensuring we can continue tackling the issues that matter most to you. Of the 700+ residents in the area who have completed the Lancashire Talking Survey in recent months you highlighted drugs activity as one of the top 5 priorities and issues affecting your area. We want to and will continue to tackle this issue. As always, any information is helpful. You can tell your local neighbourhood policing team in passing or via email, report online directly or report anonymously via Crime Stoppers. #YOUSAIDWEDID

The next Ingol and Tanterton PACT meeting will be held at Tanterton Village Centre at 6.30pm on Wednesday 2nd July. The local police along with council representatives will be present and we look forward to seeing you there.

Thank you as always for your continued support. Take Care

PC Jenny, PCSO Jules
