Burglary in your area!

Good Afternoon Residents of Savick.

For everyone that does not know me, I am PCSO 7312 Mohammed, your most recent PCSO for Lea, Larches & Savick.

An urgent update for your area:

There has recently been a residential burglary within your local area nearby Ainsdale Drive / Heywood Road, suspect has broke into a property within your local area and have taken certain valuables from within. At this moment in time, there is no CCTV footage or any other evidence of the suspect in this case. If you have any information on the suspect or the incident, please either reply to this message, or call 101.

The Neighbourhood Policing Team have been doing House to House enquires to find out more information from the public.

Due to this, we will now be showing an increased level of visible presence within your area to provide more reassurance and safety.

Advice to everyone who has received this message, take the following actions to prevent this type of crime occurring again:

- Please remember to lock all doors and windows, VEHICLES AND HOMES

- Have you thought about installing CCTV systems for your property? (Video doorbells or full scale CCTV systems?)

- Ensure there is a good amount of visible light at your property, for e.g flood lights. Intruders jobs are much more easier in the dark.

- Trim landscaping. Keep bushes and trees trimmed below window level. Neighbours seeing suspicious behaviour is a deterrent, and is also helpful to identify suspects with CCTV.

- Try not to hide keys outside, Keep them in a secure lock box which can be kept outside, but will need a code/key to access.
