Incident in Newton in Bowland

Good afternoon,

We are investigating an incident which occurred in the area of King Henry Mews, Bolton by Bowland on Friday 18th July 2025.

Very sadly the report is of a cat that has been seriously injury by what we believe to be an air rifle, the cat has suffered a serious injury to the face and has had to have a number of operations, at this stage it is expected to survive.

If anyone has any information relating to this incident or may have seen anything suspicious between 12:00 and 19:30 in the are please contact me via email on 5036@lancashire.police.uk.

I'm sure many of us in the Ribble Valley have pets of our own and can appreciate the distress this has caused the owners quite rightly want answers as to why this incident has occurred.
