Vehicle Crime in your Area |
||
Good Morning,
We are writing to inform you about a recent increase in vehicle crime in your area.
Over the past few days, we have had several reports made to Police about a rise in thefts from vehicles during the hours of darkness.
We understand that this news may be concerning to the community.
We encourage residents to report any suspicious activity and report immediately should you become a victim of this.
You can do this via 101 or via an online reporting tool. For any immediate sightings or activity please call on 999.
In the meantime, your local neighbourhood team will be paying attention to the area during our tour of duty, conducting house to house enquires and gathering CCTV which will help try to ID the offenders and apprehend those responsible.
We encourage all residents to always lock your vehicles and take a few moments to double check the handles to ensure they are definitely locked, remove all valuable items including clothing/bags/purses, electricals and sentimental items. We also encourage to remove any loose change even if it is just a very small amount.
Unfortunately offenders will seek any opportunity they can.
Please ensure if you do own any CCTV cameras or Ring doorbells that they are fully working and timestamped correctly.
We appreciate if you do not have any CCTV that this can come at a financial cost, however we will always encourage to have this to help with investigations and enquires.
Thank you for your attention to this important matter.
Kind Regards PCSO 7752 Shires | ||
