Bogus callers |
Good Afternoon
We where made aware of a report of a possible Bogus Caller in the Haslingden area this week. The caller was reportedly trying to sell upgraded boilers as part of a government scheme. It is unknown at this time whether this was genuine or indeed a Bogus caller. If anyone attends your address and you are not sure who they are, then do not open the door. Ask them to leave and if they refuse then contact the Police. Under no circumstances allow anyone access to your address unless you are absolutely certain who they are. Most personnel from official organisations will have genuine identification, ask to see it before opening the door.
If you require any work carrying out at your address then contact a reputable tradesman preferably someone who comes highly recommended. Although not all Cold Callers are Bogus callers, it is always best not to enter into any agreement on your doorstep. Take your time and get advice or other quotes from reputable tradesmen/organisations before entering into an agreement.
