Vehicle theft - Brunshaw Avenue

Good afternoon,

We have received a report of the theft of a vehicle on Brunshaw Avenue, close to the junction of Belmont Grove.

The vehicle was taken between 11pm on Friday (24th) and 8am on Saturday (25th).

The owners are still in possession of both sets of keys, and no entry to the property was attempted. 

The vehicle was a keyless start. It is believed that the suspects may have cloned to key from the outside of the property.

For this sort of crime, a relay device is used, which copies the signal from the key. The device then acts as an additional key, allowing the vehicle to be opened and driven away with very little effort required.

If you have a keyless entry car, please ensure that you place the key in a Faraday pouch or metal tin, which blocks the signal from being emitted.
