ASB in Garstang and the surrounding area.

Good evening residents of Garstang and the surrounding area,

As we approach Halloween and Bonfire night and following on from my message last week, I wanted to give you an update regarding anti-social behaviour in and around Garstang.

As you may recall, my PCSOs and my Sergeant – PS 4856 Jones were subject to a torrid of abuse by a group of around 10 youths earlier in October whilst patrolling, as were numerous other members of the public, who were also alarmed and distressed by the ASB taking place. PS Jones wrote a social media post regarding the matter. 

Since this incident, 6 of the youths have been identified and have all been bought to Garstang Police Station in company with their parents/guardians. Subsequently, we have had no significant reports or sightings of any groups causing ASB in Garstang or the surrounding area. 

We have however received several reports of 2 electric type motor bikes, (AKA Sur-Rons,) being ridden dangerously around Garstang and Pilling. A few weeks ago, these Sur-Rons were located on High Street by my colleagues in Tac Ops who pursued the bikes but unfortunately had to abort due the risks. 

The riders do not wear helmets or protective clothing. I know that the public will roll their eyes at this, but causing injury or worse isn’t something the Police are happy to do. 

I know that ASB driving is a priority in my wards and to this, an operation is to take place targeting this illegal activity in the coming days/weeks; the results of which I will hopefully share with you once the operation has commenced. 

The toilets on High Street continue to be monitored and as stated in my last message, we have had no reports concerning these toilets since 12th September 2025.
