BrightsparxAnti-social behaviour is bang out of order, enjoy Bonfire Night responsibly! During this time of year, we often see an increase in demand on emergency services due to Bonfire Night. This year we are once again working alongside Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service to promote firework safety in the run up to Halloween and Bonfire Night. We know that incidents involving fireworks, bonfires and other combustible materials can cause significant alarm and distress for our communities, and that a small minority of people use these to cause crime and nuisance in their local area. Bonfire Night is not an excuse to act unruly or scare others on purpose. We are asking the people of Lancashire who are planning to celebrate any festivities to enjoy them responsibly. Organised bonfires and firework shows will be taking place across the county, which are not only more outstanding to visit and see, but also much safer too. We want everyone to enjoy their evening in the right way and simply ask you to be considerate of any members of your community who may be more affected by the activities that this time of year brings. Anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated, and we are committed to keeping people and communities safe. Officers will be carrying out extra patrols during this period to keep you safe, but we would ask all parents to think about their children and their whereabouts in the coming week too. To help us keep our lines free for those who need us most, please ensure you’re contacting the most relevant agency and using the most appropriate means of contact. You can report anti-social behaviour online to your local council, or anonymously via independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org. If anyone is concerned for their safety or has witnessed anti-social or criminal behaviour, then please contact the police using 999 if it is an emergency or 101 or online. | ||
