Operation Lockdown - Vehicle Crime🔐

Yesterday evening Fylde Rural Task Force were out on foot in Newton as part of Operation Lockdown🔐

The Operation has been introduced to crack down on vehicle crime in Fylde - a repeat concern reported to us. 

We showed a highly visible presence, providing safeguarding advice and reassurance to the community🗣️

We also checked parked vehicles to ensure they were locked and no valuables were left on show. 

For those vehicles that were insecure, the owners were informed and crime prevention advice was given. Our aim isn't to blame or patronise, but instead to make you aware of how easy it can be for a criminal to access your vehicle and belongings🚗

We'd like to provide you with some simple safety tips:
🔒  Double check your vehicle is locked (even if you're just nipping inside for a minute!)
⌚ Remove all valuables from your vehicle 
📷 Park your vehicle in view of CCTV or lighting where possible
📱 Report any suspicious activity via 101 or 999 in an emergency

If we can enter your vehicle undetected, then so can a criminal.
