Blackburn Neighbourhood Plain Clothed Op

🚨 This weekend, the Blackburn Neighbourhood Policing Team were out in plain clothes, in the Roe Lee and Baswell area, tackling issues you have raised to us. 

Here’s what happened:

✅𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐠 𝐃𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐝

On Plane Street, Blackburn, our @LancsSpecials  colleagues spotted a suspected drug deal. The vehicle was quickly intercepted with help from our @LanConSpecOps  team. The driver, a 30-year-old man from Blackburn, had no licence or insurance, tested positive for cannabis, and was arrested. His car? Seized 🚗❌

✅𝐂𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭

The suspected buyer was stop-searched nearby and found with Class A and Class B drugs. He received a community resolution.

✅𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐕𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐃𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐬

Later, a vehicle linked to drug dealing was seen on Calder Street. It tried to leave the area but was stopped on Shadsworth Road. Both occupants were searched under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act. The driver had a large amount of cash, and further searches uncovered suspected Class A drugs.

🚨🚔   With support from our Team 4 Response colleagues, we also tracked down 𝟐 𝐖𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐧 at an address in the area: 

•              1 was arrested for Criminal Damage, Theft, Public Order and Escape from Lawful Custody.

•              The other was arrested for 3x Theft from a Motor Vehicle, Vehicle Interference and Fraud.

Both have now been charged and remanded to appear at Blackburn Magistrates Court today.

As the shift wrapped up, officers spotted a suspicious vehicle speeding on St James Road. Inside?

Both occupants were arrested on suspicion of 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐲. Further searches uncovered 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐬, 𝐦𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬, 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬. They’ve been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

• 𝟒 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 - for drug possession

• 𝟐 𝐕𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐢𝐳𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 - used in crime

• 𝟐 𝐄-𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐢𝐳𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 - for illegal road use

• 𝟏 𝐅𝐢𝐱𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐲 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐈𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞𝐝 - no MOT

• 𝐕𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩? - Issued with S172 notices for intended prosecution
