E - Scooters And The Law |
||
|
Good Afternoon,
As Christmas approaches, we feel it is important for you to know the law regarding E-Scooters before any of you spend your hard earned cash on these.
Privately owned E-Scooters are illegal to use in a public space, for example, public roads, pavements, or in parks. They can only be used on private land with the land owner's permission. If caught using an E-Scooter in public, you risk fines, penalty points, and the scooter being seized by the police.
E-Scooters are classed as a motor vehicle, therefore you would need to have a licence and insurance. It is not currently possible to get insurance for these vehicles therefore they become illegal to use.
E-Scooters can only be used through official rental schemes in certain areas of the country.
