Today marks the end of the week long operation targeting knife crime.  

During this week throughout Chorley and South Ribble we have...

Carried out 10 Weapons Sweeps

Done 7 Educational School Visits.

Distributed leaflets to the public in the town centres and in local shops.

Carried out a number of stop searches

Targetted visits to problem areas and offenders identified by the public.

Test purchased 6 shops also identified by the public.

We are pleased to say as a result we have seized a number of knives, weapons and adapted weapons.  

Another pleasing factor was that we had NO FAILURES in thr Test purchases carried out meaning no knives were sold to minors.  

We will continue to proactively tackle knife and weapon crime as the norm throughout the year.
