E Bikes/ Scooters |
||
|
Good evening, With Xmas approaching I have no doubt towards the top of some children's present lists will be an E bike / E scooter. This is a quick note to parents who may be thinking of purchasing one of these, to consider a few of the issues that surround the use of these. Because the E bikes & E scooters are for sale in certain shops, it does not mean that they are legal to use on the road. These E bikes & e scooters cannot be ridden on roads; roads can be classed as; Highway (public road) Footpath Bridleway Cycle Lane Grass Verge Car Park Effectively they cannot be ridden anywhere except private land with the land owners permission. If you require more clarification on E bikes or E scooters (and the laws about them)you can pick up an information leaflet from the Town Centre Police Station front desk, on Ainsworth Street, Blackburn or let me know and I can drop one off next time I am in the area. Thank you PCSO 7346 Steve Charnley
