Drink & Drug Driver Arrests This Week |
||
|
Fylde Rural Task Force have been working night shifts this week, proactively stopping vehicles to identify drivers committing the Fatal Five offences.
In the early hours of this morning, we were out in Lytham when we spotted a Jaguar travelling at excess speed and swerving whilst passing our vehicle🚔
The Jaguar continued travelling at speeds of up to 100mph whilst straddling the centre line, driving onto the wrong side of the road and breaking harshly🚨
The vehicle was stopped and the driver blew 86 at the roadside with the legal limit being 35.
To top it off, the driver had no valid insurance and had been disqualified from driving earlier this year✖️
The driver Campbell-James SIMPSON (31) of Valentia Road, Blackpool was arrested and his vehicle seized. He has now been charged with drink driving, driving whilst disqualified, driving with no insurance and driving without due care and attention🧑⚖️
In addition to the above, we also made the following arrests relating to road safety...
In Clifton, we stopped a vehicle due to the manner of driving. We suspected the driver to be under the influence however he refused to provide a sample. Unlucky for him, he was still arrested for failure to provide😬
We also stopped a vehicle in Wesham where the driver admitted to using cocaine (only on the weekends🤥). Unfortunately for the driver, the drug wipe indicated cocaine in his system and he was arrested for drug driving.
Our message is simple - DON'T DRINK OR DRUG DRIVE❗
It isn't big and it isn't clever. Your actions could result in you being arrested, or worse, killing yourself or an innocent member of the public. | ||
