Operation Lockdown - Vehicle Crime |
||
|
This month Fylde Rural Task Force have been out on foot patrol in Wrea Green, Weeton and Clifton as part of Operation Lockdown🔐
Operation Lockdown is a proactive response to target offenders trying car door handles and stealing from unlocked cars.
Our aim is to disrupt those committing these offences, identify suspicious behaviour and use our stop search powers where necessary🕵
During these deployments, we've been checking parked vehicles to ensure they're locked. For those that are insecure, we have contacted the owners and given crime prevention tips💡
We're not here to lecture or victim blame, we understand mistakes happen and leaving your car unlocked is easily done.
Our purpose is to raise awareness that these offences can happen anywhere, at any time. If we can enter your vehicle unnoticed, then so can a criminal🤫
We were glad to see residents coming outside when they noticed us on CCTV - this is the type of vigilance we want to see!
These Operation Lockdown deployments have become part of our regular patrol and we will be deploying to all of our villages and towns to spread the word🗣️
