Good Afternoon, You may have seen a large police presence in the last year or so around Yeadon way Blackpool, I would just like to share with you some of the good news stories and why we are there. In partnership with Blackpool council and other partner agency's an Operation has come about, brought forward from concerns of the public around road safety and other road/vehicle related issues. The Operational intent is to: Remove vehicles showing no Tax and no insuranceInspect waste carrier vehicles for proper documentation and compliance Review all Licensed passenger vehicles entering or exiting BlackpoolAssess LGV's and HGV's for compliance with highway regulations, particularly weight restrictions on Yeadon way which is limited to 7.5 tons. On Wednesday 14th January 2026 the latest Op concluded and I would just like to share some stats from the day. 90 Vehicles were stopped and checked - including 45 Taxis/Ubers2 Vehicles upon inspection by the DVSA were given an Immediate Prohibition (PG9I) as they were considered a danger to road users. One of these vehicles made the necessary repairs and improvements within the car park whilst the other was recovered.4 vehicles were over the weight limit of Yeadon way (7.5 tons), one being a 44 ton vehicle transporter pictured below.2 vehicles showing no M.O.T and issued FPN2 vehicles showing no road tax and issued paper work, DVLA made aware. #yousaidwedid Regards Phill, Blackpool Police
