Taxi Licencing Operation - Hyndburn |

Hi Resident This week, local officers collaborated with DVSA and licencing officers at Hyndburn Borough Council to undertake a taxi licencing operation. Taxis and private hire vehicles were checked for compliance with licensed driver duties, vehicle safety and national vehicle standards. In total 26 vehicles were checked. Our partners at the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) examined 19 vehicles. Of those:- 13 of the 26 vehicles were from Hyndburn Borough Coucil. Of the 13 vehicles 8 had no defects. 1 vehicle was issued with an Immediate Prohibition due to having defective headlights and suspended under Section 68 LG (MPA) 1976. The s68 was removed the following afternoon with confirmation of the repairs and an MOT. A warning letter was issued to the driver. 2 vehicles had an under inflated tyre and were able to rectify it immediately using their own equipment 2 vehicles were issued with 10 day delayed prohibition by the DVSA due to issues with emissions and have rectified the issues We are glad we have been able to work closely with our partners and will continue to address the concerns of the communities. | ||
