South Rural Task Force and officers from the National Construction & Agriculture Theft Team have been out recovering high value stolen plant machinery across the West Lancashire and South Ribble areas. So far this week we have seized three 9 tonne dumpers, a 6 tonne dumper, a compact excavator, and a tandem roller. These thefts are not only about the value of the machinery, they also impact businesses and individuals with lost time and revenue. We are still committed to tackling these thefts and recovering stolen goods. #YouSaidWeDid #NoBorders #SouthRTF #NCATT

Crime Prevention Advice A burglary can devastate the lives of victims. Not only can their physical possessions be stolen, but their feelings of safety can also be taken from them. To help avoid becoming a victim of crime: Keep all windows closed and doors locked and always check before going to bed. Keep curtains and blinds closed at night and make sure any valuables are out of sight. Always remove your keys from the locks and out of sight of windows and letter boxes. Try not to post on social media that you’re away or on holiday – don’t advertise an empty home! If you have a keyless car, keep your keys as far away from your car as possible – preferably in a faraday bag to stop thieves using a relay device. Always use good quality padlocks with covers on all outbuildings so they cannot be easily cut off. Make sure side gates/sheds/garages are locked and keep boundary fences, walls, and gates are in good repair. Install security lighting and / or CCTV cameras around your property where possible; they are a great deterrent. If you're going out for the evening, leave a light on or put one on a timer. Always report any suspicious activity of concern in your area, this can be done easily online and helps us to target our patrols.
Do you know the law when it comes to e-scooters and e-bikes?
You (the public) are consistently telling us that you're sick of nuisance, anti-social and down-right dangerous riding of e-bikes and scooters in Lancashire.
It's not just 'kids having a bit of fun'. We've seen first hand the dangers of these vehicles, having dealt with serious and fatal collisions involving bikes and scooters that have devastated families and left people with life-changing injuries.
it's not just us....and we're not taking the ‘fun’ away from kids. There’s nothing fun about e-scooters when riding one puts you in a situation where you receive life changing injuries. Take it from these medical staff at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.
https://www.facebook.com/reel/883805047476033 Lancashire Police say that the use of recording equipment, such as CCTV or smart door bells, to capture video or sound recordings outside the user’s property boundary is not a breach of data protection law. While people should try to point their CCTV cameras in directions away from others properties to protect and respect their privacy, this isn’t always possible. And Lancashire Police ask residents and businesses that have CCTV cameras or smart door bells to register with NICE2SHARE – Lancashire Constabulary’s Community Portal. By doing so, much needed assistance will be provided to deter and solve crimes quicker. Registration will mean that instead of trawling for the presence of CCTV cameras after a crime had been reported in a particular area, officers know from the outset whether footage was likely to exist that could assist with their inquiries – and then request access to it. To report Road Safety concern, this should be done through Lancashire Road Safety Partnership. If you wish to submit a new concern, use the link below. Please submit one concern per location. • LRSP will use existing data or where necessary, arrange for up-to-date speed count data to determine what action, if appropriate, can be taken.. • LRSP may not be able to action every concern, and this will very much depend on the level of detail you provide and the results of our assessment. • For 20 mph limits (not zones) we will consider if Community Road Watch is appropriate, although CRW will not be suitable for all 20 mph roads, as this is dependent on a number of factors. • After our assessment is complete. Should up to date speed count data be required, we appreciate your patience and understanding whilst we undergo the process of gathering and analysing new data. https://lancsroadsafety.co.uk

How to report a dog fouling problem You can report a dog fouling problem in two ways: We investigate dog fouling complaints and take a hard line against offenders. However, as our officers have to witness the offence before a fixed penalty notice can be served, it can be difficult for our officers to catch the culprit, particularly as a dog fouling offence can occur very quickly. Therefore, when you make a complaint, we will ask you to complete a questionnaire and keep a log of when you have seen any fouling incidents. We will use this information to target offenders to improve the chances of catching those responsible. So, when you need to make a complaint about dog fouling, please help us to investigate your complaint by providing as much information as you can, such as: If you can't provide this information, it will greatly reduce our chances of catching offenders. In these circumstances, your complaint will be dealt with as part of our routine patrols.
