Speed Enforcement The Quay, Lancaster

Good afternoon

This morning your local neighbourhood police officers were conducting speed enforcement on St Georges Quay, Lancaster after concerns were raised by local residents. 

The majority of drivers were well below the speed limit for the road, however a number were caught going too fast. These drivers were stopped and have been given a notice of intended prosecution, where depending on their speed and driver history they can be offered a speed awareness course, issued a fixed penalty notice (with points) or given a summons to court.

The fastest speed recorded was 41 MPH. 

We will continue to enforce the speed limit going forward.
