A big thank you to Lancashire’s community crimefighters! |

We just wanted to share some great news! Thanks to your support, Lancashire has seen a record rise in people sharing information with Crimestoppers over the last nine months. Reports from local residents are up 26.9% compared to the same period last year, which is the highest we’ve ever seen. It shows more people than ever are choosing to speak up anonymously to help keep their neighbourhoods safe. Between October and December alone, there were 649 more reports than the same time last year! A lot of this information related to drug dealing and drink driving, which really helps us target key issues through operations like Op Warrior and Op Limit. We’re also seeing more young people using Fearless, Crimestoppers’ service for under-25s, to share what they know without giving their details. All this extra information makes a massive difference. It helps officers tackle offenders, protect vulnerable people and disrupt crime across the county. Detective Chief Superintendent Derry Crorken said: “Our communities are our eyes and ears. Every single anonymous report helps us understand what’s happening, protect people and bring offenders to justice. We’re hugely grateful to everyone who has come forward, and to Crimestoppers for their continued support.” Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw added: “It’s clear that more people than ever in Lancashire are stepping up and refusing to let crime go unnoticed. These reports aren’t just numbers — they represent individuals choosing to do the right thing to help keep their communities safe.” We’ll continue working closely with Crimestoppers to tackle everything from shoplifting and anti-social behaviour to drug dealing, modern slavery and drink driving. If you have any information about crime, you can contact Crimestoppers 100% anonymously on 0800 555 111 or at crimestoppers-uk.org
