Operation Lockdown in Singleton

You might have seen Fylde Rural Task Force out on foot in Singleton this evening as part of Operation Lockdown.

Operation Lockdown is a proactive approach to target and disrupt vehicle crime in the Fylde area.

We've been regularly patrolling our rural towns and villages to show a high visibility presence and provide reassurance to our community.

We often receive reports of offenders trying car door handles and stealing items from cars that are left unlocked. Although these offences may not be happening in your area, we want to prevent it from happening in the future.

Whilst out, we've been checking your vehicles are locked and secure. For those that were left unlocked, we've let the owner know and provided some safeguarding advice.

We understand mistakes happen. But if we can enter your vehicle without you knowing, then so can a criminal.

We would like to provide you with the following crime prevention advice to ensure that your vehicle and your belongings are kept as safe as possible:

Check your vehicles are locked and secure when not in use

Ensure all valuables are removed from your vehicles when not in use

Keep CCTV and doorbell cameras fully charged and check your footage regularly

Park your vehicle in sight of CCTV where possible

Consider installing flood lights where possible to deter criminals

Report any ongoing suspicious activity or offences immediately via 999

Report any non-emergency activity via 101 or our online reporting system
