Speeding Chorley Old Road |
Dear Residents, Over the last few months we have been working with other agencies including Safer Roads and the Council to try and help with the issue of speeding and ebikes along Chorley Old Road in Whittle Le Woods. We started with a walk through of the area to highlight the issues and problem areas and to come up with a solution. To start with, Lancashire Police Traffic Management team have installed a VMS speed trailer near the Polo. This will record the speed of traffic over a period of a few weeks. New signs are to be installed and Community Road Watch points will be arranged where Police will be doing speed enforcement with the speed gun. We are also looking at the vehicles parking on bends and too close to Junctions (Birchin lane, Mill Lane and Hillside Crescent) so if you see any parking, which is in these areas and feel that it is dangerous, do email us photos. We will be speaking with the council as they will take the lead in the possibility of yellow lines and/or speed tables being installed. This will be a project which will last over the next 12 months and will be a joint effort.
If you would like to speak to us about any traffic issues please get in touch. Below are our email addresses. Please be reassured that we are trying to make the village a safer place and reduce speeding.
