Burglary and vehicle damage – Westgate

This morning police received a number of reports of vehicle damage and burglaries in the Westgate area, particularly around Langridge Estate, Hampsfell Drive, and the William Mitchell pub car park.

Offences reported include:

Break-ins to sheds and garages

An insecure property being entered

Damage to vehicles in residential streets and the pub car park

We would like to reassure residents that a male has been identified from CCTV, arrested this afternoon, and remains in police custody.

Crime prevention reminder:

Lock all doors and windows when leaving your home

Keep valuables out of sight

Remove items from vehicles where possible

Always lock vehicles and set alarms

Secure sheds and garages
