Cyber Security - Secure Your Accounts |
||
|
Hello, As part of our ongoing commitment to cyber security, please take a few minutes to review and update your passwords where required. Cyber criminals continue to use automated tools capable of attempting millions, and in some cases billions, of password combinations every second. Weak, common, or reused passwords can often be cracked in a matter of seconds. The password cracking table below demonstrates how password length and complexity can significantly affect the time required to compromise an account. Key reminders: ✅ Use strong passwords with a mix of upper and lower-case letters, numbers, and special characters. ✅ Create passwords that are at least 12-16 characters long. ✅ Avoid using personal information such as names, birthdays, or pet names. ✅ Never reuse passwords across work and personal accounts. ✅ Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) wherever possible. Remember: Your password is often the first line of defence against cyber attacks. Taking a few moments today to strengthen your passwords can significantly reduce the risk of unauthorised access to both personal and organisational information. A table will be attached on this message to give you a visual example of how long your password could take for brute force attacks going off 2025 statistics. Though we have little reports of these incidents our goals are always to inform you and prevent crime before it happens. Stay vigilant. Stay secure. | ||
