Good Afternoon,

Yesterday, between 15:30 and 16:00, I conducted a speed enforcement operation on Burnley Road alongside local councillor Mark Poulton.

During the 30-minute operation, approximately 50 to 60 vehicles were monitored. Encouragingly, only one driver was found to be exceeding the speed limit, travelling at 42 mph in a 30 mph zone.

While this is positive news overall, I would like to remind all motorists of the importance of adhering to speed limits. Speeding significantly increases the risk of serious collisions and puts both pedestrians and road users at unnecessary risk.

To help maintain road safety within the village, further speed enforcement operations will be carried out at various times and locations in the future.
