Burglary in you area

Hello

I am just making you aware that there has been a recent burglary from a house on Devonshire Road opposite the Red Lion Beefeater. It happened in the early hours of 18/08/26. A male has gained entry to the property via the back door. A neighbour has phoned police who arrived to find the male in the property and he was arrested. He is still in custody and will appear in court next week.

This is just a message to ask you to be vigilant and report anything suspicious you may see.

This is a good opportunity to remind you that there are a number of ways you can keep your home/property safe.  Always keep your doors and windows locked and try not to leave any valuables on show. Having some sort of CCTV/Ring Doorbell is also a deterrent.  A lot of burglaries are opportunistic where the offender tries their luck hoping to find an insecure property. Keeping valuables out of sight and doors locked should help deter anyone thinking of committing a crime.
