Recently, there have been a few reports relating to suspicious activity regarding young males going into or loitering outside resident's back gardens and taking things from people's sheds. 

One report detailed a theft of a push bike from a resident's shed in the back garden. 

This message is to make local residents aware of recent activity in the area. We encourage everyone to be vigilant and advise for high value items to be securely stored/ locked away inside the home or garage.

Marking high value items is also a good deterrent and makes it more likely for the stolen property to be found/ returned to the owner.

These offenders appear to be opportunists and enquiries are ongoing to identify them. 

Please report any suspicious activity to 101, to a local police patrol or via the online report system on the Lancashire Police Website. If you/ someone you know feels in danger or believe that a burglary/ theft is currently in progress then please call 999. 

NPT officers will be in the area for reassurance.
