Male Displaying Bizarre Behaviour in the area - Issued a Community Protection Notice

Good evening residents

Some of you might be aware of a 63 year male from Carnforth who has been a cause of concern in the area for a number of months, displaying bizarre and sometimes worrying behaviour especially towards females and children.

I would like to share that the male has been issued a Community Protection Notice, which has a number of prohibitions which if he breaches he will be committing a criminal offence and can be arrested.

The prohibitions are as follows;

He must not approach any person on the street, especially lone females and children (that is anyone aged 16 or under) and ask them for money, cigarettes or any other item.

He must not go within 100 metres of any Primary or Secondary School and you must not loiter there, unless there is a genuine emergency for you to do so.

He must not knock on anyone’s residential front door or enter their private driveway for any reason, unless there is a genuine emergency for you to do so.

Although I am not at liberty to discuss the male in any greater detail at this point, I suspect most people may know of the male I am referring to and have seen posts of him on local social media groups. Please be rest assured the police are working alongside our partner agencies in Social Services to combat his behaviour.
